أصدر أئمة بلدة برلياس بياناً أعلنوا فيه رفضهم للحملة و التطاول على مفتي الجمهورية الشيخ الدكتور عبداللطيف دريان و جاء في البيان:
إثر الهجمة الممنهجة على مقام الإفتاء والتطاول على مرجعية المسلمين السنة سماحة مفتي الجمهورية اللبنانية الشيخ الدكتور عبد اللطيف دريان حفظه الله, عبر منبر لا يألو جهدا لبث الفتنة واستفزاز الأهالي والتنكر لقيم المسلمين السنة وتوجهاتهم …
تداعى أئمة بلدة برالياس الشامخة وأصدروا البيان التالي:
أولا : نرفض رفضا قاطعا التعرض لمقام صاحب السماحة والذي هو صمام أمان ورمز وحدة واعتدال في الوطن.
ثانيا : نثمن عاليا مواقف صاحب السماحة المحلية والدولية لا سيما ما يخص القضية الفلسطينية حيث كان ولا زال من أوائل المؤيدين والداعين إلى ما يخدم القضية سواء بالمواقف أو السند والدعم المالي عبر دوائر الإفتاء في المناطق واللقاءات المتواصلة.
ثالثا : التأكيد على مرجعية دار الفتوى في لبنان والمناطق حيث هي دار الجميع والملاذ الآمن لكل أبناء الوطن .
رابعا : إذ نستهجن ونستنكر هذا التطاول والافتراء يهمنا التأكيد على أن هذا التصرف يعد فرديا ولا يمت إلى أخلاقيات وسلوكيات البلدة بأي صلة .
خامسا: نؤكد على وحدة الصف الداخلي بين أهالي البلدة, وعدم الانجرار إلى الفتنة والنزاع وشق الصف.
