يجب تنويع المواد بين العلمية والادبية وبين مسائل الحفظ والحل، وعدم إنهاء المواد العملية في البداية ثم تخصيص المرحلة التالية لمواد الحفظ ،كما على المرشح للامتحان الرسمي ان يحل الامتحانات السابقة كنوع من التدريب والاستعداد مما يجعله يتوقع طبيعة الأسئلة التي قد تطرح وكيفية صياغتها ،بالإضافة إلى قدرته على قياس الوقت الذي يحتاجه لاتمام هذا الامتحان، لذلك يجب إجراء امتحان تجريبي أكثر من اعتماد القراءة أو الحفظ أو تسطير المعلومات المهمة حتى يستعيد الطالب التفكير في الأسئلة المنطقية والمحتملة التي قد تتطابق مع أسئلة الامتحان الحقيقي ،الأمر الذي قد يساعد الطالب على اكتشاف الثغرات والضعف في المعرفة أو الالتباس في المعلومات.
